“I Thought They Were Greeting Me”–Osotsi Recounts Mistake He Made before Goons Left Him Unconscious

Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has broken his silence following a shocking attack in Kisumu, revealing how what seemed like a routine interaction with members of the public quickly spiraled into chaos.

Speaking after the incident, Osotsi recounted how a group of young men approached him while shouting “Senator,” a gesture he initially interpreted as a friendly greeting.

Having grown accustomed to such encounters, he welcomed them without hesitation, unaware of the danger that was about to unfold.

Moments later, the situation took a dramatic turn.

According to the senator, the group—estimated to be between 15 and 20 individuals—suddenly became aggressive, questioning his political stance before launching a brutal हमला.

Caught off guard, Osotsi says he attempted to escape but was overwhelmed as the attackers struck him repeatedly.

The assault, he revealed, was so intense that he lost consciousness. In the confusion, one of the attackers allegedly attempted to draw a firearm, escalating fears that the incident could have ended in tragedy.

Osotsi credits his security team for intervening in time and pulling him out of harm’s way. He was later rushed to hospital for treatment as authorities began investigations into the brazen attack.

The incident occurred in the Acacia area of Kisumu, near a popular restaurant, during what the senator described as a normal day of engagements that included meetings with local stakeholders.

Following the attack, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations confirmed the arrest of three suspects linked to the incident.

Detectives say the arrests were made through intelligence-led operations, with assistance from members of the public.

As investigations continue, Osotsi has called for calm while urging leaders and citizens alike to address rising political intolerance.

The incident has sparked widespread concern over the safety of public figures and the growing boldness of organized youth gangs.
