Cases of people being murdered and their bodies being dumped elsewhere have been on the rise in many parts of the Republic of Kenya.
In the most recent incident, police in Mukaa, Makueni County, have identified the body of a woman found dumped along the roadside, reportedly after being murdered elsewhere.
The deceased has been identified as Irene Wanjiku Ndebe, 54, a lecturer at the Nairobi Technical Institute.She had been in Thindigua, Kiambu County.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) were present at the mortuary as the identification process took place.
Police confirmed that the body, which was discovered on March 5,showed visible injuries, though the motive for the killing remains unknown.
A team of detectives is actively investigating the murder, but no arrests had been made as of Thursday.
