Inside The Home Of KFS Officer Who Died In Nandi Helicopter Crash Alongside MP Ngeno

MP Nelson Koech on Thursday, March 12, visited the family of the late Amos Kipngetich at their home in Soget Village, Emurua Dikirr Constituency.

Amos was one of the individuals who tragically lost their lives in a recent plane crash, which also took the life of former MP Johanna Ngeno. The victims were buried last week.

During his visit, MP Koech extended his sympathies to the grieving family and announced immediate support measures.

Following instructions from President William Ruto, Koech confirmed that Amos's sibling would receive assistance with school fees, and construction of homes for Amos's mother and brothers would start without delay.

Amos had been supporting his brother's education at Kisii University. In light of Amos's passing, the president stated that he would assume responsibility for aiding his brother’s university education.

Amos, who passed away at 23, was remembered by his family as a dedicated provider, being the second of six children. He had worked for the Kenya Forest Service for just over a year and a half.

During a requiem mass for the victims held at the African Gospel Church in Karen, Nairobi, on March 4, 2026, family representative Richard Chepkwony shared that Amos lived for about 30 minutes following the crash.

Throughout that time, he consistently asked about the location of former MP Johanna Ngeno.

When he learned of her passing, he reportedly stated, “If mheshimiwa has died, there is no reason for me to live.”

The MP's visit and support aim to offer comfort to the family while also honoring Amos’s memory and acknowledging his contributions to both his family and community during his brief but meaningful reforms.
