ODM Politician Says Ruto Has Remained True To The Promises He Made To Raila Odinga

Peter Kaluma has praised President William Ruto, claiming that the Head of State has remained faithful to promises allegedly made to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga before his death.

Speaking through his official X account on Thursday, May 22, Kaluma stated that Raila Odinga did not make a mistake by trusting President Ruto.

The outspoken Orange Democratic Movement legislator also praised Oburu Odinga, saying both Oburu and President Ruto had continued to support and take care of them politically.

“Dr. Oburu Oginga and President Ruto have remained true to the promise made to Raila Odinga and are taking good care of us,” Kaluma stated.

His remarks have since generated reactions online, with supporters of the government welcoming the comments while critics questioned the political meaning behind the statement.

The comments also come at a time when political alignments and alliances continue to attract attention ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Kaluma has in recent months emerged as one of the ODM politicians openly supportive of cooperation between sections of the opposition and the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Political observers note that statements from influential ODM leaders continue to fuel debate about the future direction of the party and its relationship with President Ruto’s government.

The remarks are also expected to trigger discussions within opposition circles regarding unity, loyalty, and political strategy as different camps prepare for future political contests.

Meanwhile, supporters of both the government and opposition continue to engage in heated discussions online over the evolving political landscape and possible alliances ahead of the next election cycle.
