How Senior Police Officers Reportedly Impregnated 18 Trainees Inside the Police Training Camp and Expelled Them

New information has emerged just days after 18 female police recruits were expelled from the training camp due to pregnancy reports.

The High Court is now addressing this matter, with the advocacy organization Sheria Mtaani seeking intervention concerning the dismissal of the recruits from the National Police College in Kiganjo.

According to the legal documents, several recruits alleged that their pregnancies resulted from relationships with senior police officers and trainers at the institution.

Activist's legal team, in collaboration with lawyer Danstan Omari, has pressed charges on senior police officials involved.

The police bosses are being sued for violating the constitutional rights of the affected women due to what the complaint describes as unlawful and degrading dismissals.

This petition is in response to a declaration issued on May 9, 2026, by Assistant Inspector General Michael Nyagah Muchiri, spokesperson for the National Police Service.

Nyagah announced that 18 female recruits were dismissed after being found pregnant just a month into their training.
