Former Meru Governor Reveals What Househelp Told Them at 4AM Just Hours Before Daughter Passed Awayt

Former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has shared a deeply emotional account of the final hours of his daughter, Anita Kendi, revealing the chilling moment a househelp knocked on their door at 4 a.m., just hours before she died while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.

Speaking during a sombre requiem mass held in Karen, Nairobi, the former governor recounted the painful sequence of events leading up to Anita’s sudden death on May 14.

Kiraitu explained that Anita had been actively engaged in an international academic engagement earlier that week, attending the African Women Researchers conference in Nairobi.

The forum brought together participants from across the continent, including Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa, with discussions focusing on public health financing and policy.

He noted that Anita, who was working alongside the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), was enthusiastic about the conference and deeply committed to the discussions taking place. Kenya Medical Research Institute

“She was very excited about that conference. They were talking about public health finance, which is a big debate in Kenya,” Kiraitu said, reflecting on her passion and energy during the event.

According to him, Anita returned home after the first day of the conference and met him at their residence in Karen. It was then that she mentioned feeling unwell.

“She told me, ‘Dad, I am feeling a bit of a headache, and when I took some tea, I vomited. I felt some nausea,’” he recalled during the emotional service.

Concerned about her condition, Kiraitu said he immediately took action, instructing their driver to take her to Karen Hospital for medical attention.

The family, reassured by her apparent improvement, went to bed believing she was recovering.

However, tragedy struck in the early hours of the morning.

At around 4 a.m., the family’s househelp rushed to their bedroom in distress, alerting them that Anita’s condition had suddenly worsened.

Kiraitu described finding his daughter in a critical state, struggling to speak and visibly weakened.

Without hesitation, they rushed her through the night to Nairobi Hospital, hoping for urgent medical intervention.

Upon arrival, Anita was received at the casualty department by medical staff, including a doctor identified as Dr. Nabea.

Despite swift efforts to stabilize her condition and conduct necessary tests, her health deteriorated rapidly.

Moments later, she was pronounced dead, leaving her family in profound shock and grief.
