According to available sources of news, the political undercurrents within the opposition are shifting once again as Saboti MP Caleb Amisi signals a major fallout from the Linda Mwananchi movement.
The initiative, which originally emerged to chart a distinct path away from traditional ODM party lines, is now facing turbulent times.
Speculation is reaching a fever pitch following Amisi's blunt declarations that the outfit has completely lost its bearings, forcing him to draw up an exit strategy.
According to the lawmaker, the movement has fundamentally deviated from its founding vision.
Amisi, who claims a central role in the birth of the initiative, has expressed deep disappointment with its current trajectory.
He notes that the group was supposed to champion a specific agenda for ordinary citizens, but its focus has since blurred, particularly due to premature attempts to merge into a broader, united opposition coalition.
Amisi argues that without his parallel strategic interventions specifically through the Kenya Moja faction to bolster Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, the movement would have already lost its political currency and voter goodwill.
In his view, the push to submerge the group's identity into generic opposition alliances has diluted its original purpose.
"Linda Mwananchi has failed on its assignment," Amisi has asserted, hinting that the group's current leadership is merely reactive rather than proactive.
Rather than fighting a losing battle from within, the Saboti legislator is already looking toward the horizon.
He has announced plans to launch a brand-new political mobilization effort in the near future.
This upcoming movement, he emphasizes, will be laser-focused on identifying, nurturing, and propelling credible, fresh leadership into Parliament.
As the cracks within Linda Mwananchi deepen, all eyes are now on how Sifuna and the remaining team will stead the ship, or if this exit will trigger a domino effect.
