"It Has Broken My Heart" Oscar Sudi Turns Emotional, Urges Kenyans To Give Whereabouts Of This Man

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has touched many Kenyans after making an emotional public appeal seeking information about a man who has reportedly lived paralyzed and bedridden for the past 25 years following a stroke.

In a heartfelt message shared on the X platform, Sudi revealed that the story of Andrea Tendenei had deeply affected him and prompted him to seek ways of helping the struggling resident of Kaptumo village in Kipsomba Ward.

According to the lawmaker, Tendenei has spent more than two decades battling the effects of a stroke that left him unable to walk or care for himself independently.

The situation, combined with the difficult living conditions shown in photos accompanying the post, sparked widespread sympathy online.

“Andrea Tendenei’s story has broken my heart. He has suffered a stroke, leaving him paralyzed and bedridden for 25 years in Kaptumo village, Kipsomba ward. If you have any information about him, kindly volunteer it. I want to help,” Sudi wrote.

Images shared alongside the appeal showed Tendenei seated while appearing physically frail but smiling warmly. Other photographs captured the family’s modest mud house with a grass-thatched roof, highlighting the difficult conditions under which he has reportedly lived for many years.

A woman believed to be a family member was also seen in the images, drawing further emotional reactions from Kenyans online.

The post quickly attracted widespread attention, with many social media users praising the MP for demonstrating compassion and concern for vulnerable members of society.

Supporters described the gesture as an example of humane leadership and called on other leaders, charitable organizations, and well-wishers to join efforts aimed at helping the family.

Several Kenyans also volunteered to help trace the family and provide information that could support any planned assistance.

Others urged local authorities and county health officials to intervene by providing medical support, rehabilitation services, food supplies, and improved housing for Tendenei and his caregivers.

The incident has once again highlighted the struggles faced by many stroke survivors and persons living with disabilities in rural Kenya, particularly those without access to specialized healthcare, rehabilitation centers, or social support systems.

Health experts have frequently pointed out that long-term conditions such as paralysis can place enormous emotional and financial strain on families, especially in low-income communities.

Observers say stories like Tendenei’s continue to resonate strongly with the public because they reflect broader challenges affecting many vulnerable Kenyans who often remain unseen and unsupported for years.

As reactions continue to pour in online, many people are now waiting to see what form of support or intervention may follow after Sudi’s public speech.
