Chaos Interrupts a Rally in Busia Forcing a Woman to Hide Behind Cheruiyot's Back

A woman empowerment drive organized by Kenya Kwanza leaders and those allied to ODM in Budalang’i, Busia County, was on Saturday disrupted after chaos erupted, forcing attendees to flee for safety.

The event, spearheaded by Farouk Kibet, a close aide to President William Ruto, brought together several leaders, including Governor Paul Otuoma, Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, and MP Raphael Wanjala, among others.

However, the rally was abruptly interrupted when rowdy individuals reportedly caused a disturbance, triggering panic among participants.

In dramatic scenes, several women were seen rushing toward Senator Cheruiyot, with some seeking cover behind other leaders as tensions escalated.

The senator, who was addressing the gathering at the time, called for calm and urged those responsible for the disruption to desist.

The incident occurred during an empowerment initiative aimed at supporting local women and community groups through financial aid and business equipment.
