Amount of Money Househelp Was Demanding Before She Allegedly Killed Her Employer's 4-Year-Old Baby

A publication by media houses on Saturday 2, May 2026 has disclosed to the public amount of money that a house help identified as Joyce Onyango demanded from her boss Ann Wanjiru, a resident of Ruai, before she (Onyango) allegedly killed Wanjiru's four-year-old daughter, over what she termed as delayed pay.

According to Ann Wanjiru, her disagreement with her househelp who she only employed on April 3rd, 2026, started when she excused herself to Onyango, that she would delay her salary for a few days, and that she was hoping to pay her on Sunday, May 3, 2026.

However, Onyango became impatient with Wanjiru's humble request, and kept on insisting that she wanted her money on Friday, May 1.

Specifically, Wanjiru had explained to Onyango that it was impossible for her to pay on 1st, May as Onyango wished, because she (Wanjiru) had travelled to her rural home, and had no money in her phone at that time that would have paid the Ksh 6,000 Onyango was awaiting as her salary.

As a result, Onyango allegedly threatened to leave the baby with Wanjiru's neighbor, before she (Onyango) packed her things and travelled to her home in Kisumu.

When Wanjiru returned home after her errands, her daughter seemed to be okay and she even gave her some sweets. However few moments later, the baby mysteriously started to vomit but Wanjiru thought it was just a small issue.

Wanjiru went on to claim that she gave her daughter water to quench her third after they took supper, before they retired to bed.

At 11 pm when Wanjiru went to check how her daughter was doing, she was left heartbroken after finding her baby unresponsive, and upon touching her skin, she was already cold.

Together with her neighbors, Wanjiru rushed her daughter to the hospital, but all her efforts ended up in vain after the medics failed to revive her.

While calling for justice, Wanjiru claims that her househelp could have probably poisoned her daughter, before she picked up her belongings and travelled back to Kisumu.
