The fatal crash occurred on the night of Friday, April 3, in Taita Taveta, when their vehicle collided with a stationary car. Mitchell lost her life, while other family members were hospitalized.

“My dearest beloved daughter Mitchell was born on July 3, and has been taken from us so soon, on the third of April. Your absence has left a silence that words cannot fill. For the years we shared, I never met a soul as beautiful as you,” he said.
He recalled Mitchell’s graceful and understanding nature, highlighting her signature phrase: “Even when we wouldn’t grant your wishes, my girl would say, ‘Daddy ni sawa tu,’ showing your remarkable spirit,” he said.
