Tragedy In Bungoma As Woman Dies While Shielding Her Child After House Was Set On Fire

Cynthia Maloba’s death has sparked anger and calls for justice after the main suspect in her killing, identified as Omundu, reportedly remains free despite serious allegations.

The tragic incident has raised concerns about safety and accountability in Kenya, with residents and activists demanding immediate action from authorities.

According to reports, Cynthia Maloba was allegedly attacked at her home when Omundu, together with other individuals, locked her inside the house.

It is claimed that the suspects poured petrol around the house and set it on fire while Cynthia and her young daughter were still inside.

The fire spread quickly, leaving Cynthia trapped and struggling to escape.

Witnesses say Cynthia tried to save her daughter as the flames intensified.

She reportedly shielded the child from the fire, an act that likely helped the young girl survive.

However, Cynthia suffered severe burns during the incident and later died from her family.

Her death has left family members and residents in shock and deep sorrow.

The child survived but sustained serious injuries, including burns to her face and other parts of her body.

The young girl, who is only eight years old, is now an orphan and continues to receive treatment as she recovers from both physical and emotional trauma.

The tragic incident has touched many people who are now calling for justice for Cynthia and support for her child.

Witnesses at the scene claim they saw Omundu light the fire. Some residents also recorded statements with police shortly after the incident.

Despite these accounts, there has been little progress in the investigation, raising concerns among members of the public.

Questions have also been raised about the handling of the case in Bungoma County.

Critics say police failed to present important forensic evidence, including phone location data that could help place the suspect at the scene.

There are also claims that the investigation may have been interfered with, leading to delays and lack of accountability.

Family members, friends, and activists are now calling for the case to be reopened and investigated thoroughly.

They argue that justice must be served and that those responsible for Cynthia’s death must be held accountable.

Activists have warned that if no action is taken, they will organize a peaceful protest at Vigilance House next Tuesday and demand justice  to prevail.
