Family members and friends broke down in tears after CCTV footage surfaced showing her final moments before she was found dead.
The student, identified as Sheila Chebet, was a first-year student at Kenya Medical Training College. Reports indicate that she had spent time with friends at a pub in Karatina before leaving in the company of her boyfriend.
CCTV footage shows Chebet appearing intoxicated as she walks with Vincent Bett, who is believed to be the last person seen with her. In the footage, Bett is seen dragging her along the road as they leave the area.
The suspect has reportedly claimed that they were attacked while together, forcing him to flee and leave Chebet behind. However, investigators are still working to confirm the truth behind these claims.
