Photos have emerged of Irine Adhiambo, a 10-year-old schoolgirl from Migori County who disappeared after leaving home to fetch water from a nearby river.
The Grade Five pupil at Akoko Primary School in Uriri was last seen on April 2 when she went to carry out the routine chore.
According to relatives, Irine regularly fetched water from the river without any difficulty, making her sudden disappearance even more troubling.
Her family from Akoko Village said she never returned home that day, prompting panic and a search within the area.
The incident has left relatives shocked as they continue to wait for any information that may help trace her.
Family members described Irine as calm, respectful, and hard-working at home.
They said she related well with others and had no history of discipline issues at school.
The girl was also expected to report back to school for the new term but failed to return, causing concern among teachers and fellow pupils who have been asking about her whereabouts.
At the time she disappeared, Irine was wearing black trousers and a white T-shirt.
Her family has shared her photos widely in the hope that someone may recognise her and help authorities locate her.
Recent cases of missing children and loved ones have caused concern in several parts of the country, with some families still searching for answers while others have managed to reunite with those who vanished.
Police have urged anyone with useful information about Irine’s whereabouts to report to the nearest station.
Her family continues to appeal to the public for help as the search goes beyond.
