Mwiki Woman Gets Tattoo of Ruto’s Face, Allegedly Dumped by Husband Upon Returning Home

A Nairobi woman is seeking assistance after her marriage of more than ten years collapsed following political disagreements with her husband.

Rachel Muthoni, a mother of two from Mwiki in Kasarani, said tensions in her home began when she openly supported President William Ruto while her husband backed an opposing political faction.

She said she later decided to show her support by getting a tattoo of the President’s face and a slogan associated with his supporters. She noted that this act triggered conflict at home.

According to her account during an interview, her husband discovered the tattoos while she was preparing to shower. He allegedly reacted angrily and demanded that she leave their matrimonial home.

She claims the husband questioned why she chose to tattoo a political leader instead of his own image, leading to a heated disagreement that ended their relationship.

Now separated, Muthoni says she is struggling to find a place to stay and is appealing for support, saying the situation has left her emotionally and financially strained.

She maintains that having a political opinion should not cost someone their marriage and insists she still supports the President despite the personal setback.

Her story has sparked mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans amused while others questioned whether politics should influence family relationships so deeply.

Observers note that similar cases have been reported in Nairobi where couples clash over political affiliations, especially during heated election cycles and public debates.

Community members have urged couples to prioritize communication and respect differing opinions to avoid breaking families over political loyalty and public figures.

Meanwhile, the woman continues to hope for reconciliation support, saying she remains open to dialogue while trying to rebuild her life after the separation and find stability for her children in Nairobi.

She also says she is considering counseling and legal advice as she adjusts to the new reality, emphasizing that she wants peace despite the public attention surrounding her story in the city today seeking privacy as she moves forward slowly.
