SAD: Missing 3-Year-Old Girl Found Murdered in Neighbour's House, Suspect Killed by Mob in Revenge

Detectives in Nyamira County are investigating the murder of a three-year-old girl in Nyakongo village, Kitutu Masaba.

The child, identified as Joy Nyanchama, was reported missing on April 25 after disappearing from her grandmother’s home under unclear circumstances.

Family members and villagers searched frantically for three days but could not find her.

On April 28, her body was discovered inside a deserted house belonging to a neighbor.

Witnesses said the body had visible injuries on the head and face, and her clothes were torn, suggesting a violent attack.

The discovery left the community in grief and anger, with residents demanding answers from authorities.

Tension rose on Wednesday morning when villagers cornered a suspect believed to have been involved in the killing.

Enraged by the brutality of the child’s death, the mob lynched the suspect before police could intervene.

The mob justice incident has drawn mixed reactions from leaders and authorities. While many residents expressed frustration and grief over the child’s death, local leaders have strongly condemned the act of taking the law into one’s own hands.

Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing into both the murder of the child and the killing of the suspect.

Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and allow due process to take its course, assuring the public that justice will be served.
