Linda Mwanga has made a desperate public appeal to the Inspector General of Police (IG) and the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), to urgently intervene over the detention of her step-father Stephen Mwanga, after being reportedly linked to his association with former Cabinet Secretary CS Raphael Tuju.
According to Linda Mwanga, she only became aware of her father’s arrest on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, after he was unexpectedly detained by police officers while he was driving in the Upper Hill area of Nairobi at around 5 p.m.
Linda Mwanga further indicated that her step father is currently being held at the Langata Police Station in Nairobi, despite the circumstances of his arrest being unclear.
Linda Mwanga further went on to allege that despite the fact that the arrest was made on Wednesday, the boys in blue have not yet communicated about his whereabouts and the reasons for his detention thus causing unnecessary distress to his family members and friends.
Through her appeal to the law enforcement agencies, Linda Mwanga pinpointed that she now fears for the life of her step dad who has allegedly been denied access to medical care since his untimely arrest despite him battling Pneumonia.
Prior to Linda Mwanga's rallying plea to IPOA, former CS Raphael Tuju had confirmed to the public that his ally and Professional Assistant Steve Mwanga had been forcefully arrested after he sent him to deliver a parcel at Upper Hill in Nairobi and that he is yet to hear from the authorities on what led to his mysterious arrest.
