Nairobi: A Woman Secretly Sends Ksh 318,000 From Her Boyfriend’s M-Pesa Account After Assaulting Him

A highly disturbing incident reported in Nairobi has left a young man badly hurt and urgently seeking justice after he was allegedly assaulted and robbed by his girlfriend, who is accused of secretly withdrawing Ksh 318,450 from his M-Pesa account and leaving him with only Ksh 7.

Steve Godia is presently receiving medical care at a city hospital, where he is being treated for serious burn wounds sustained during the incident, which reportedly occurred at his rented residence in Umoja 1 Estate.

Authorities have opened investigations into the case, treating it as attempted murder and grievous harm, yet more than ten days later, the suspect is still said to be missing.

Godia stated that the night started with a heated argument after his girlfriend accused him of keeping in touch with an ex-girlfriend.

He explained that the conversation rapidly spiralled out of control when she allegedly boiled water and poured it on his face before escaping from the house.

As he continues his recovery, Godia is described as being in severe pain and struggling to comprehend how a day meant for affection and joy turned into a battle for his life.

Speaking from his hospital bed, Godia said his girlfriend attacked him because she felt his explanation about his ex-girlfriend was unsatisfactory and that she may have felt disrespected by his tone.

He further said the water was extremely hot and that by the next morning his eyes and entire face were badly swollen, leaving him unable to see and in overwhelming pain.

Godia added that although police assured him that investigations were ongoing, he believed the process was slow and called for the suspect to be arrested and taken to court.

CCTV footage is said to have captured the suspect leaving the compound shortly after the incident.

Godia identified the woman as Gladwell Kagai, someone he said he had known and trusted for three years.

Godia is a third-year student at Multimedia University of Kenya in Nairobi and said the injuries have forced him to miss crucial exams as hospital bills continue to increase.Godia said he hopes the suspect will be arrested so that justice can be achieved
