He Was Celebrating With His Family Just Days Before the Tragic Crash

Kenya remains in deep mourning following the tragic death of Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Ng'eno, whose life was cut short in a fatal helicopter crash on February 28.

The accident occurred in the Chepkiep area of Mosop Constituency in Nandi County. Six people lost their lives in the crash, including the MP’s close aides and associates.

Ng’eno’s passing sent shockwaves across the country, with leaders and citizens alike paying tribute to a man widely viewed as hardworking, progressive, and deeply committed to public service.

Beyond his political career, the late legislator was a devoted family man.

He was married to Nayianoi Ntutu, a lawyer by profession and a member of the respected Ntutu family in Narok County.

The couple exchanged vows in August 2018 during a high-profile wedding ceremony that drew national politics.

Among the distinguished guests were President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga, reflecting Ng’eno’s wide political influence and respect across party lines.

The couple was blessed with two daughters. Friends and colleagues describe Ng’eno as a loving and present father who always made time for his children despite his demanding work schedule.

Images of his firstborn daughter innocently signing her father’s condolence book touched many Kenyans and highlighted the painful reality of the loss left behind.

Professionally, Ng’eno stood out as both a legislator and a trained advocate. He was admitted to the bar in 2025 as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, joining his wife in the legal profession.

Together, the couple supported various development initiatives in Emurua Dikirr, including education programs, environmental conservation, church projects, and girls’ empowerment activities.

In their personal life, they were admired for their strong bond. They celebrated milestones openly and shared joyful family moments that resonated with many Kenyans.

Just days before his death, Ng’eno shared a cheerful family video during his wife’s birthday, a memory that now carries deep emotional weight.

He will be laid to rest on March 6 in Narok County as the nation stands with his family during this difficult time.
