What began as a routine traffic stop quickly turned into a dramatic roadside confrontation after two police officers were caught on camera arguing over an insurance check.
The incident, which has since gone viral on social media, involved a male police officer and a female traffic officer engaged in a heated exchange beside a busy road.
In the widely circulated video, the visibly upset male officer, dressed in a blue police uniform partly covered by a jacket, is seen confronting the traffic officer after she allegedly stopped his vehicle over an insurance issue.
During the tense confrontation, the male officer points at the woman and questions her conduct, saying he does not understand what is wrong with her. The female traffic officer, however, accuses him of insulting her and allegedly referring to her as “stupid.”
The male officer defends himself by explaining that he had already identified himself as a fellow police officer. The traffic officer responds by saying she had not realized he was an officer because his uniform was partially hidden under a jacket.
As emotions continue to rise, the woman insists she was disrespected before the man attempts to leave the scene. The officer is then heard saying he had already complied with the stop and possessed valid insurance documents, insisting there was nothing further she could do against him.
The argument continues for several moments as the male officer walks away from the roadside incident while still exchanging words with the traffic officer.
According to reports, the disagreement stemmed from the insurance verification process after the female officer stopped the vehicle for a routine check.
Under Kenyan traffic laws, officers are mandated to inspect motorists’ documents, including insurance certificates and driving licences, to ensure compliance with road safety regulations.
The video has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many Kenyans debating professionalism, respect among officers, and how roadside confrontations should be handled.
