'Mwanamke ni Nyumba' Photo of House Onyonka and Siblings Built Mum in Kisii, and How They Did It

Most people who visited Senator Richard Onyonka's mother assumed he built her house alone. On Sunday at Nyamataro, he told them they were wrong and named the brother who actually ran the project.

When the idea of building Mama Teresia Nyaboke Omoke a proper home came up, it was his brother Jimmy Omoke who took charge.

Jimmy set the figure half a million shillings from each of the six siblings and allowed no exceptions. He then supervised the construction himself, from foundation to finishing, until the house stood exactly as their mother deserved siblings.

Half a million each. Three million total. A mother who never had to ask.

The house is visible in the photos from Sunday's visit yellow walls, red roof, well-maintained grounds. Nyamira Governor Hon.

Amos Nyaribo is seen addressing the gathering outside, the building standing behind him as he spoke. The governor did not arrive empty-handed.

His team offloaded three bunches of bananas, sacks of cabbages and fruits, and two live goats the kind of contribution that keeps a compound full of mourners fed and says what words often cannot.

But the house anchors everything. It is what Mama Teresia came home to every evening. It is what her children built without waiting to be asked, and what her most recognisable son has watched strangers credit entirely to him for years.
