“I Was Just Pressed" —Nairobi Man Kicked Out After Allegedly Using Washroom at International House

A Nairobi man has narrated an unusual incident he claims occurred at International House after visiting a microfinance office linked to Platinum to collect his logbook.

What was supposed to be a routine visit reportedly turned embarrassing after a disagreement with a security guard over a restroom visit.

According to his account, the man arrived at the building and proceeded to complete his official business. Shortly after, he says he urgently needed to use the washroom and quickly headed there without notifying the security personnel stationed at the entrance or within the premises.

He alleges that moments after entering the restroom, a security guard followed him and confronted him over his action.

The guard reportedly questioned why he had used the facility without first seeking permission or informing security, a rule the visitor says he was unaware of.

The situation escalated when, according to him, he was instructed to leave the premises immediately. He claims he was escorted out of International House despite explaining that he had only acted out of urgency and did not intend to breach any rules.

The man has since expressed shock over the incident, noting that he found the response excessive given the nature of his visit.

He also questioned whether visitors should be required to seek permission before accessing basic facilities such as washrooms.

Neither the microfinance office nor the building’s management had issued an official statement regarding the incident at the time of publication.

The account remains based on the man’s personal narration and has not been independently verified.

The incident has sparked conversations among members of the public about access rules in office buildings and how security personnel handle visitors in shared commercial spaces.

Some observers argue that basic facilities such as washrooms should be accessible without unnecessary restrictions, while others believe that strict security protocols are important in high-traffic buildings to ensure order and safety for all occupants.
