Six years after a shocking nightclub shooting nearly ended his life, Felix Orinda has finally broken his silence and his message is leaving Kenyans emotional.
In a powerful and deeply moving update, the popular entertainer revealed that he has regained his ability to speak after years of intense medical care, therapy, and recovery.
Speaking from what appeared to be a bedroom-style hospital setting, DJ Evolve shared that he now feels like “life is back” — a statement that has quickly captured national attention.
The DJ, who was left with severe physical impairments following the 2020 shooting incident involving Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, has spent years fighting to regain basic life functions. Today, that fight is finally paying off.
According to Babu Owino, DJ Evolve has made remarkable progress and is now speaking normally. The only remaining hurdle, he revealed during a TV interview on May 4, 2026, is physiotherapy to help him walk again.
“The only thing remaining is for him to go through physiotherapy so that he can regain his ability to walk. DJ Evolve is talking… he is talking the way we are talking. He is normal,” he said.
The update marks a major turning point in a recovery journey that has been nothing short of extraordinary.
After the shooting, DJ Evolve had to relearn almost everything — from speaking and feeding himself to regaining movement in his upper body.
It has been a long and painful road, but one he says has been guided by faith, resilience, and forgiveness.
“Most of my strength has come from God,” he shared, adding that choosing to forgive has been one of the most important steps in rebuilding his life.
Despite the trauma he endured, recent footage shows him smiling, engaged in hand-exercise therapy, and actively participating in assisted mobility training — signs of steady and hopeful progress.
The cost of keeping him alive and on the path to recovery has been enormous. Babu Owino disclosed that nearly KSh70 million has been spent on DJ Evolve’s medical care so far, with monthly expenses nearing KSh500,000. He described the incident as accidental and said his continued support is part of “restorative justice.”
Meanwhile, additional support is beginning to take shape. Public advocate Geoffrey Mosiria has announced plans to help DJ Evolve rebuild his future through digital opportunities, including the creation of an online DJ platform and a DJ academy.
For many Kenyans, DJ Evolve’s story has now shifted from tragedy to inspiration. His ability to speak again is being celebrated as a powerful symbol of hope, strength, and second chances.
And as he continues with physiotherapy — the final step toward walking again — one thing is already clear: he has overcome the hardest battle.
“I have my voice. I have my joy. Life is back.”
