The violent assault Osotsi happened on Wednesday morning at a Java House located in Western Mall, Kisumu County.
According to his statement, before the assault by unidentified goons, Godfrey Osotsi had traveled to Kisumu town to receive a haircut in preparation for the Linda Mwananchi rallies.
Unfortunately, his trip to the barbershop was cut-short by armed goons who cornered and attacked him.
As evident by CCTV footage circulating on various social media platforms, the attackers invaded the establishment and surrounded him from multiple directions, overpowering him.
Upon raising an alarm, shop attendants intervened by pushing back the unidentified attackers, thereby preventing the senator from sustaining more serious injuries.
Once the situation was under control, Senator Osotsi was swiftly transported to Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu town for urgent medical care.
He was then evacuated and airlifted to Nairobi via Kisumu International Airport, where he continues to receive treatment.
