A teacher from West Pokot County is currently fighting for his life in hospital after he was allegedly set on fire by a woman believed to be his lover following a domestic dispute.
Mwalimu Morgan Powon, a teacher from Kacheliba, is said to have been involved in a heated argument with the woman over relationship issues.
According to sources familiar with the incident, what started as a disagreement quickly escalated into violence under unclear circumstances.
Reports indicate that during the confrontation, the suspect allegedly locked Mwalimu Powon inside a house before setting it on fire.
It is not yet clear what exactly triggered the extreme act, but neighbors say they heard loud arguments coming from the house before the situation turned tragic.
Residents who noticed the fire rushed to the scene in an attempt to rescue the teacher.
