Busia Man Burns Down Sh6 Million Rental Block at Midnight After Coming Home to Find Wife Missing

A shocking incident in Amagoro, Busia County, has left residents talking after a man allegedly set fire to a five-unit rental house worth Sh6 million after reportedly returning home at midnight and finding his wife missing.

According to eyewitness claims shared by Kenyan Report, the man came back from work late on Monday night expecting to find his wife at home, only to realise she was nowhere to be seen.

What started as confusion is said to have quickly turned into anger, creating a terrifying scene that neighbours may never forget.

Witnesses quoted by Kenyan Report claim that the man allegedly went for petrol before heading to the rental property and setting it on fire.

At the time, four of the five units were occupied by tenants. The frightened tenants were forced to run for safety in the middle of the night as flames spread rapidly through the building.

One unit was reportedly vacant. Photos shared by the publication show huge flames consuming the structure, with thick smoke filling the sky as the property burned.

The incident has stunned people in Amagoro, located in Teso South Sub-County near the Kenya-Uganda border, with many struggling to understand how a domestic issue could allegedly end in such destruction.

As of now, the story remains based on reports by Kenyan Report and social media discussions. Major media houses and police have not independently confirmed the claims.

The man’s identity has not been made public, and it is still unclear whether he has been arrested or whether his wife was later found.

Busia police are yet to release an official statement.

The alleged incident has triggered heated reactions online, with many Kenyans calling for calm in relationships and warning against making destructive decisions in moments of anger.
