Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju has once again raised alarm, claiming that more than 100 police officers have occupied his Karen residence in Nairobi, as well as the Dari Business Centre.
Tuju said the officers moved into the two premises without prior notice, raising concerns about the legality and intention of the operation.
He described the presence of the officers as excessive and intimidating, noting that both locations have effectively been taken over.
According to Tuju, the officers arrived in large numbers and established a heavy security presence, restricting movement in and out of the properties.
He claimed that neither he nor his representatives were given a clear explanation for the deployment, adding to his fears that the action may be unjustified.
He further stated that the situation has disrupted normal operations at the Dari Business Centre, affecting tenants and businesses that rely on the facility.
Tuju said the uncertainty surrounding the police presence has created anxiety among workers and visitors, some of whom have reportedly been unable to access the premises freely.
At his Karen home, Tuju said the presence of armed officers has caused distress to his family and staff.
He maintained that the occupation of a private residence by such a large number of officers is unusual and raises serious questions about due process.
Tuju has called on the relevant authorities to clarify the purpose of the operation and to ensure that his rights, as well as those of others affected, are respected.
He emphasized the need for transparency and adherence to the law, warning that the situation could escalate if not addressed promptly.
