"I Woke Up And Found Bodies Lying Next To Me" Survivor Of Bus That Killed 6 On Mombasa Road Recounts

A survivor of the tragic road accident that claimed six lives along Mombasa Road has shared chilling details of the moments after the crash that left several passengers dead and many others seriously injured.

The accident happened near Voi in Taita Taveta County along the busy Nairobi-Mombasa highway.

The bus collided with a lorry in the early hours of the morning while many passengers were asleep.

According to police and medical officials, six people died, while eleven others suffered serious injuries.

Some of the injured passengers are receiving treatment at Voi County Referral Hospital, where doctors confirmed the deaths and said several victims remain in critical condition.

One survivor who spoke to journalists while receiving treatment described how the crash happened suddenly and without warning.

The survivor said he suddenly felt a strong impact, and someone hit him on the chest.

He explained that the force of the collision threw him from his seat before he realised the bus had been involved in an accident.

The survivor added that the situation inside the bus quickly turned chaotic as passengers struggled to understand what had .

He said he later noticed that the person who had hit him on the chest was lying lifeless next to him and that the body remained there for several minutes.

Another survivor gave a similar account, explaining that many passengers were asleep when the collision occurred.

The second survivor said he had been sleeping when he heard a loud bang and woke up to find several bodies lying next to him.

"I woke up only to find several bodies lying next to me," the survivor recounted.

He explained that he rushed to the front of the bus in an attempt to rescue the driver.

Police have launched investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash as families mourn the victims.
