DCI Finally Reveal What Exactly Caused MP Johana Ngeno's Chopper Crash

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has revealed preliminary findings on the helicopter crash that killed Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno and five others in Nandi County.

The tragic accident happened on Saturday, February 28, in Chepkiep Forest.

All six people on board died when the aircraft went down in what officials now believe was caused by poor weather conditions.

Preliminary reports suggest that bad weather and poor visibility were major factors, with investigators launching a probe and indicating that findings are expected within 30 days.

As investigations continue, burial plans for the late MP and his associates have been confirmed.

Speaking from Ng’eno’s rural home, Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu said the families agreed on a joint burial date after consultations with President William Ruto and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.

Ntutu said that after extensive consultations and with no hindering factors, the families resolved that all their lost kin would be laid to rest on Friday, March 6.

He added that a special prayer service would be held on Wednesday, March 4, at the Baptist Church.

Ntutu further explained that, in line with Kalenjin customs, the bodies of Ng’eno and Wycliffe Kiprotich Rono would be taken home on Thursday, March 5.

He stated that the bodies would be brought home in accordance with Kalenjin culture, which requires that anyone who was married and had children spend a night at their home.

The other victims named as Nick Kosgei, Amos Rotich and Robert Keter will be transported on the burial day.

The funeral service will take place at Emurua Dikirr Primary School before final rites at their homes. President Ruto is expected to attend.
