The body of Rodgers Kiplimo, a 25-year-old diver from Emsea village in Keiyo South Sub-County, Elgeyo Marakwet County, was retrieved after he drowned on March 7, 2026, following a dive into Cheploch Gorge in River Kerio.

According to reports, he was swept away by strong currents, and his body was found 6 days later.

It was taken to the mortuary by police, who revealed that an investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.

The incident happened during heavy rains, which made rescue operations challenging. Rodgers was a respected and reliable diver, known for his skills and agility.

He was the breadwinner of his family, leaving behind a pregnant wife and young children.
