Babu Owino and Edwin Sifuna Energize Kakamega with Linda Mwananchi Tour

KAKAMEGA – The streets of Kakamega were buzzing with excitement as Members of Parliament Babu Owino and Edwin Sifuna led a colorful procession of supporters during their Linda Mwananchi tour.

The event attracted large crowds, as locals came out to see their leaders and hear about their plans to protect and empower citizens.

The tour, whose name “Linda Mwananchi” means “Protect the Citizen,” focuses on issues that affect ordinary people, such as the rising cost of living, governance, youth empowerment, and social welfare.

As Owino and Sifuna moved through Kakamega’s main streets, supporters waved placards, chanted slogans, and dressed in party colors, showing strong support for the initiative.

Vehicles, motorcycles, and musicians formed a lively convoy, creating a festive atmosphere that caught the attention of traders, schoolchildren, and residents along the route.

Many participants took the opportunity to interact with the leaders, raising questions about local challenges and community needs.

Speaking during the procession, Babu Owino emphasized the importance of standing with wananchi. He called on citizens to be vigilant and united in demanding accountability and fairness from leaders.

Edwin Sifuna, meanwhile, highlighted the need for policies that empower the youth and improve living standards across counties.

Both leaders said that the tour is not just about political mobilization but about listening to the concerns of everyday people and finding practical solutions.

Supporters described the Kakamega stop as inspiring, noting the energy and personal engagement of the leaders. “It feels good to see our leaders walk among us and listen to our concerns. This is not something we often see,” said one resident who joined the procession.

The Kakamega tour is one stop in a series of outreach events planned across Kenya. By taking their message directly to the people, Owino and Sifuna aim to build stronger connections with communities, raise awareness about citizen rights, and encourage participation in shaping policies that affect daily life.

As the procession wound down, many supporters expressed hope that the Linda Mwananchi initiative will lead to real change, making life easier and fairer for ordinary Kenyans.

With such strong engagement, the tour in Kakamega has set a lively tone for the rest of the campaign.
