Nairobi Man Heartbroken After His Girlfriend Who She Waved Bye Died in Ill-Fated Bus That Claimed 3

A Nairobi man has been left heartbroken after losing his girlfriend in a tragic road accident that claimed three lives along the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway.

The man, identified as Beavon Omari, was devastated upon learning that the young woman he had personally escorted to the matatu had died in the crash.

The young woman, identified as Sharon, a student at Kenyatta University, was seen in a TikTok video days before the accident, full of energy and excitement.

In the video, she was smiling and joking with friends as they prepared for a road trip to Mombasa.

The footage, which has since circulated widely online, shows her in high spirits, unaware that tragedy would strike soon after she waved goodbye to her boyfriend and boarded the matatu.

The ill-fated matatu, popularly known as Machete, was traveling from Nairobi to Mombasa when it developed mechanical problems.

Witnesses say the vehicle appeared to lose control near the Zion area, a busy stretch of the highway.

Preliminary reports suggest that brake failure may have contributed to the crash, making it impossible for the driver to manage the vehicle.

According to survivors, the matatu was moving at high speed before the accident.

The driver reportedly tried to control the vehicle but was unable to prevent it from veering off the road and overturning near a bridge.

The impact was severe, instantly killing three passengers, including Sharon.

Several others sustained injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Some are reported to be in critical condition.

Emergency responders and members of the public rushed to the scene to help rescue those trapped in the wreckage.

The bodies of the deceased were later moved to a nearby mortuary as families began the painful process of identification and funeral preparations.
