Raymond Omollo Finally Breaks Silence over Osotsi Attack, Sends this Message Amid Resignation Calls

It is truly unfortunate what happened to Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi in Kisumu. Those were the exact words of Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo when he finally broke his silence on the shocking attack.

On April 8, 2026, armed goons brutally assaulted the senator at a restaurant in Kisumu. They pinned him down, slapped, and kicked him in full view of witnesses and CCTV cameras.

Osotsi was rushed to hospital and later airlifted to Nairobi for specialized treatment. He described the incident as a well-planned assassination attempt linked to his political stands.

While condemning the violence, PS Omollo’s brief statement has failed to calm the growing anger. Opposition leaders, led by Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, have given him a 24-hour ultimatum to resign.

They accuse him of either failing to secure leaders or being directly linked to the goons behind the attack. Calls for his immediate sacking have spread across the country.

Police in Kisumu have started investigations and arrested some suspects. However, many Kenyans feel the response is too slow.

The incident has raised fresh fears about political violence and the safety of leaders who dare to criticize the government.

Senator Osotsi remains a strong voice for democracy. His attackers wanted to silence him, but the attack has instead united many against intolerance. As PS Omollo’s words echo, “It’s unfortunate” Kenyans are demanding more than sympathy.

They want real protection, swift justice, and an end to the culture of goon violence in politics. This sad chapter must push Kenya to choose dialogue over danger.
