Prophet Owuor Followers Give Mammito Eunice 24 Hours to Pull Down Mimicry Post and Apologize

A section of followers linked to Prophet David Owuor has called on Kenyan comedian Eunice Mammito to delete a recent social media post they claim was mocking the preacher and to issue a public apology within 24 hours.

The demand emerged after a video surfaced online showing a man identified by social media users as a member of the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, the church associated with Prophet Owuor.

In the clip, the man is seen addressing Mammito directly, warning her to remove the content or face unspecified consequences.

The comedian, who uses the handle @officialmammito, had not responded to the demand at the time of publishing. The post in question is said to show her imitating aspects of Prophet Owuor’s public appearance and mannerisms, something his supporters strongly objected to.

The incident has sparked debate online, with users divided over whether the content falls under comedy and satire or crosses the line into disrespect.

Some defended Mammito’s creative freedom, while others sided with the preacher’s followers, saying religious figures should not be used in parody.

Prophet Owuor has previously been involved in similar controversies where content creators have portrayed or imitated him in comedic skits.

In past reactions, his supporters have strongly opposed such portrayals and warned against what they consider mockery.

What has drawn attention this time is the swift response from followers who issued their own ultimatum without an official statement from the church leadership.

The move has highlighted the strong loyalty of sections of his congregation, who often react quickly in defence of the preacher online.

Mammito remains one of Kenya’s well-known comedians, popular for her relatable humour and social commentary. However, she has previously faced criticism over some of her skits, with critics arguing that certain jokes go too far.

As the situation continues to circulate online, it remains unclear whether Mammito will respond to the demand or let the matter fade away amid growing public debate.
