’You Healed Me’ – Widow of Late MP Johana Ng’eno Opens Up After Husband’s Tragic Death

Weeks after the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the life of Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno and five others, including the pilot, his widow, Naiyanoi Ntutu, has publicly thanked Kenyans for their outpouring of support.

Ng’eno, who served as Emurua Dikirr MP until his untimely passing, was laid to rest on March 6 in Mogondo, Emurua Dikirr.

The funeral was attended by top leaders, including President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, alongside thousands of mourners who came to pay their respects.

In the aftermath of her husband’s death, Naiyanoi received encouragement to run for the vacant MP seat. She even received endorsements from her family and elders of the Kapkaon clan.

However, she announced her withdrawal from the race on March 23, citing personal reasons and the need to focus on her family.

Her decision has shifted political support within the UDA party, with allies of the late MP now rallying behind Bernard Ngeno, Ng’eno’s former personal assistant.

Through her Instagram Stories, Naiyanoi expressed heartfelt gratitude to Kenyans who sent messages of encouragement. She also acknowledged her cousins, noting that their presence and support “healed” her heart during this difficult period. She wrote:

“Thank you all for the support and messages. I appreciate each of you, even if I may not be able to respond personally. To my dear cousins, words cannot express how much your support has healed my heart.”

Netizens also took to social media to show solidarity. Some urged her to consider entering politics in the future, while others emphasized allowing her time to care for her young children and heal from the loss.

Naiyanoi’s candid gratitude has resonated widely, with many Kenyans applauding her courage and the grace with which she has navigated personal tragedy. Her story underscores the power of community support in moments of profound loss.
