Elieshi Ndetaulwa is devastated after her partner of nine years allegedly brought another woman into their home, forcing her and their three children to live under distressing conditions.
Ndetaulwa, a native of Singisi in the Arumeru District of Tanzania, revealed the shocking turn of events that disrupted her family life.
“I have been living with this man for about nine years, and together we have three children. He even built a house for us,” Ndetaulwa said.
“Then, without any prior notice, he brought another woman into the house. I was shocked to discover their affair.”
The house, which only had one bedroom, became a source of tension. Ndetaulwa explained that she and her children were forced to sleep in another room while her partner and the new woman shared the room she once occupied.
She claims that the situation led to harassment, with the other woman reportedly instructing the children to only eat food she prepared and reporting their mistakes to Ndetaulwa’s partner.
“She has even threatened me,” Ndetaulwa added. “One day, I closed the door after he left, not knowing she would return. She asked, ‘Who are you to close this door? Do you know whose house this is?’ I was terrified.”
Ndetaulwa also expressed concern for her children, who have faced interruptions in school and struggled with the lack of stability and food at home.
The man allegedly defended his actions, claiming he had known the woman long before Ndetaulwa and justified bringing her in as following tradition.
Although not legally married, Ndetaulwa said the emotional toll has been immense. “This has disrupted our lives entirely,” she said.
The case highlights the emotional and practical challenges many women face in informal domestic arrangements and has sparked conversations about respect, cohabitation, and children’s welfare.
