Residents in Githunguri, Kiambu have been left in shock and disbelief after reports emerged that a bodaboda rider allegedly killed his wife and child, before turning to end his own life.
The incident, which has also sparked questions about family conflict and mental anguish, was said to be linked to long-running hatred between the suspect and his brothers.
According to local reports, the man identified as Kamau, a bodaboda rider from Kiambu, was pushed to “take his own way” after failing to endure repeated mockery and the painful treatment he reportedly received from his brothers’ children, including references to the death of their father.
Residents say the situation escalated over time, leaving Kamau overwhelmed and emotionally broken.
Investigators and community members who came across a handwritten note described it as heartbreaking and disturbing.
In the note, Kamau allegedly explained that he could no longer live under what he referred to as “hatred” and hostile actions directed toward him by members of his extended family.
He reportedly wrote that he had struggled to remain strong, but the constant hostility made life unbearable.
The handwritten message, as shared by those who reportedly saw it, indicated that Kamau made the decision after feeling he had no way out.
He further stated that he had reached a point where he believed taking the lives of his wife and child, then his own life, was the only option left for him.
In the note, Kamau reportedly wrote: “It’s in deep pain. I can’t face it anymore.” He explained that despite the challenges he faced at home and within the family, he had been trying his best to provide and live peacefully with his wife and child.
Sources say the man expressed that he had endured mockery and tension for a long time and felt trapped in a cycle of bitterness.
The note also included financial information that has left many residents talking.
Kamau allegedly revealed that he had money saved on his mobile money services. Reports indicate he left approximately Sh203,000 on his M-Pesaand Sh20 in M-Shwari.
