Most Wanted Nairobi Goon Leaders, Known For Disrupting Political Rallys Napped By DCI Officers

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested several suspected gang leaders believed to be behind repeated chaos at political rallies in Nairobi.

The suspects, who have been on the police radar for months, were picked up during a well-planned operation carried out in different parts of the city.

According to police reports, the group has been organizing and leading goons who disrupt public meetings, especially during political events.

Witnesses say the gangs often arrive in groups, armed with crude weapons, and cause panic by attacking attendees, damaging property, and forcing gatherings to end abruptly.

The arrests followed weeks of investigations and surveillance. Detectives tracked the suspects’ movements and linked them to multiple incidents reported in areas such as Embakasi, Mathare, and parts of Nairobi’s central business district.

Authorities say the suspects played a key role in recruiting young men, coordinating attacks, and receiving payments from unknown sponsors.

During the operation, officers recovered several items believed to have been used in the attacks, including clubs, knives, and communication devices.

Police also say they are analyzing mobile phone data to identify other members of the network and possible financiers behind the activities.

Speaking after the arrests, DCI officials warned politicians and individuals who hire such groups that they will also face the law.

They said the crackdown is part of a wider effort to restore order and ensure that political activities are conducted peacefully without fear or intimidation.

Residents in affected areas have welcomed the arrests, saying the gangs have caused fear for a long time. Some traders in the city said they have suffered losses whenever rallies turn violent, forcing them to close their businesses early.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be charged in court. Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing as authorities work to dismantle the entire network.

Police have urged the public to report any suspicious groups or planned disruptions, assuring that action will be taken swiftly to maintain peace and security investigation.
