“I Sent Him My Salary for 9 Years—He Married Someone Else” Kenyan Woman Speaks Out

Kitale, Kenya – A heartbreaking story of love, betrayal, and financial loss has emerged from Saudi Arabia, where Rebecca Khaemba, popularly known as Becky, claims her husband married another woman despite her sending him her entire salary for nine years.

Becky, a former househelp, left Kenya to work in Saudi Arabia with dreams of providing a better life for her young son and paying for her studies in History and Politics.

Over the years, she worked for multiple households and eventually secured a position at King Abdul Aziz’s palace, describing her experience as positive compared to the harsh treatment many domestic workers face.

During her time abroad, Becky met a Kenyan man through a friend named Claire. Despite noticing he was illiterate, she fell in love with him and began supporting him financially.

“He told me we should build something together since we were planning to get married. I trusted him completely and sent money regularly,” she explained. Over the years, Becky contributed KSh 1 million toward a house that eventually cost KSh 6 million.

The couple lived together from 2016 until 2024, but trouble arose when he refused to have children with her, citing personal plans.

“I noticed red flags years into the relationship, but I thought I could make it work,” Becky said. Things worsened when her husband fathered a child with another woman and began refusing her rightful share of their property.

After returning to Kenya, Becky faced more challenges, including the death of her mother and serious health complications from incorrect treatment in a Kilifi hospital. Despite losing her money, property share, and enduring emotional pain, Becky remains resilient.

“I fought for what was mine and now all I want is the money I invested returned. I will rebuild my life, find love again, and move forward,” she affirmed.

Becky’s story serves as a cautionary tale for women investing in relationships and emphasizes the importance of self-reliance and vigilance in love and finances.
