"I Killed My Own Son Since His Father Never Supported Me" 20 yrs Old Kenyan lady In Prison Recounts

Some hours ago popular Inooro TV journalist Simon Kibe aired a heartbreaking story of Sharon Juma, a young woman currently serving a prison sentence after being convicted of murdering her own child.

According to Sharon, her troubles began at a very early age. She became pregnant while still in Class Eight at just 16 years old and was living at her parents’ home at the time.

Instead of receiving support, she says her parents and older siblings turned against her, constantly pressuring her to leave and go live with the child’s father.

However, the alleged father denied responsibility and even threatened to harm her if she mentioned him in connection with the pregnancy.

Sharon says she felt Isolated, rejected and overwhelmed by the situation and it was hard for her Sharon for her to cope with the situation.

She recounts that the constant harassment at home and the weight of her circumstances pushed her into a desperate and tragic decision.

In a moment she now deeply regrets, Sharon went to town, purchased rat poison and later mixed it with milk which she gave to her young son.

Shortly after consuming the mixture, the child began vomiting, prompting Sharon to rush him to the hospital. A doctor advised her to give the baby plenty of water and she returned home hoping his condition would improve.

She reports that all that time her mother was around and some family members but they never bothered to know what was happening.

Unfortunately, the child’s condition worsened during the night and he passed away. The following morning, police officers arrived to investigate the incident.

Sharon admitted to what she had done and was immediately arrested. She was later arraigned in court, where she was convicted of murder and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The tragic case has sparked conversations about teenage pregnancy, family rejection and the mental and emotional struggles young mothers face when left without support.
