Emurua Dikir lawmaker Johana Ng’eno’s widow, Nayianoi Ntutu, received Kalenjin musicians at her Emurua Dikir home following her husband’s emotional burial.
Ng’eno perished in a tragic helicopter crash, leaving behind a grieving family and community.
Ng’eno, his personal photographer, and three others died in the chopper accident on February 28 at 4:45 pm in Chepkiep, Mosop Constituency, Nandi County. His sudden death shocked political and local circles across the region.
Thousands attended Ng’eno’s funeral, including President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki. The ceremony reflected the deep respect and influence Ng’eno held in Emurua Dikir and neighboring counties.
During the visit, Nayianoi warmly addressed the musicians, acknowledging their friendship with her late husband. “Praise God. I welcome you all because you were Ng’eno’s friends, and he loved you dearly,” she said.
She encouraged them to feel at home and share memories of Ng’eno. “Every time he went to West Pokot, he spoke fondly of you. I’m glad to see people he used to visit,” Nayianoi added, visibly emotional.
Nayianoi invited the musicians to share a meal with her, using the gathering to honor her husband’s legacy. “After this, let’s eat lunch together and talk about the late. I know wherever he is, he is happy to see you here,” she said.
The widow also urged the musicians to continue visiting, emphasizing community support during her grieving period. “Thank you for comforting me during this difficult time. Keep coming back; let it not just be a one-off visit,” she added.
Netizens quickly praised Nayianoi’s strength and composure, flooding social media with messages of encouragement.
Many described her as a pillar of resilience, handling immense personal loss with grace and dignity.
Her actions were seen as a unifying gesture, bridging political and ethnic divides through shared mourning. Community members lauded her for prioritizing collective grief and remembrance over personal sorrow.
As Nayianoi navigates life after Ng’eno’s passing, her engagement with the public reflects both her courage and commitment to her late husband’s friends and constituents.
This event marked another chapter in Emurua Dikir’s healing, highlighting the widow’s leadership and the enduring influence of Johana Ng’eno’s legacy across the region.
